πŸ“‹ Description

β€’ Develop, implement, and execute comprehensive global intellectual property strategies for Amgen's therapeutic products and candidates.

β€’ Collaborate with Amgen scientists to pinpoint patentable innovations.

β€’ Prepare, file, and prosecute patent applications on a global scale.

β€’ Perform prior art searches.

β€’ Evaluate patents and create freedom-to-operate assessments.

β€’ Conduct due diligence to support licensing initiatives.

β€’ Negotiate and draft research agreements.

β€’ Offer legal guidance to R&D and business partners concerning IP-related issues.

β€’ Assist with litigation matters and engage in patent challenges or defenses in PTAB, opposition, and other venues.

β€’ Work autonomously, as part of legal teams, and in collaboration with cross-functional R&D and business teams across multiple regions.


⛳️ Requirements

β€’ J.D. or LL.M. degree from a recognized law school.

β€’ Licensed to practice law in a U.S. jurisdiction.

β€’ Minimum of four (4+) years of experience in intellectual property law practice.

β€’ Registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

β€’ Preferred: ten (10) or more years of experience in patent or intellectual property law.

β€’ Preferred: experience in all facets of U.S. and international intellectual property law related to biotechnology, either in a law firm or within a biotechnology/pharmaceutical company.

β€’ Preferred: an advanced degree such as a master's degree or Ph.D. in organic or medicinal chemistry.

β€’ Exceptional analytical, legal drafting, and both oral and written communication skills.

β€’ Strong leadership and management abilities alongside a focus on client service.

β€’ Capable of working independently and collaboratively within teams.

β€’ Proficient in prioritizing tasks, managing workflow, meeting tight deadlines, and handling multi-faceted projects in a fast-paced setting.

β€’ Preferred: experience in U.S. and/or international adversarial proceedings, including patent litigation, Inter Partes Reviews, Post Grant Reviews, and oppositions.
