This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
β’ Draft, review, and negotiate intricate business-critical commercial agreements, including MSAs, SOWs, supply, development/manufacturing/services, quality agreements, and NDAs.
β’ Advise and inform senior management on legal and regulatory risks affecting CDMO/Life Sciences operations.
β’ Develop strategies for risk mitigation and create appropriate contractual language.
β’ Act as the primary legal advisor and thought leader for FUJIFILM Diosynth Biotechnologies on a global scale.
β’ Build networks with internal and external decision-makers and represent the Legal team in executive forums.
β’ Formulate long-term legal strategies and frameworks that align with strategic objectives and future products/services.
β’ Collaborate with Commercial and Program teams on strategic partnerships and proposals.
β’ Independently manage a high-volume, complex caseload while keeping stakeholders informed of progress.
β’ Provide guidance on non-contentious intellectual property matters and establish IP allocation standards.
β’ Create and implement legal training programs and playbooks.
β’ Enhance legal processes, templates, CLM, and data insights.
β’ Oversee outside counsel and manage budgets effectively.
β’ Assist in dispute prevention and resolution, corporate matters, and transactions.
β’ Contribute to the development of policies, compliance program implementation, and cross-group alignment across the US, UK, Denmark, and the global FUJIFILM Legal/Compliance teams.
β’ Bachelorβs degree and Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
β’ Admission to at least one state bar in good standing; preference for North Carolina admission.
β’ 8β12 years of relevant experience in a corporate law firm and/or in-house legal department within the CDMO, Life Sciences/Pharma, or healthcare sectors.
β’ Comprehensive knowledge of commercial law, contracting theory/practice, and legal design.
β’ Principal-level advisory skills, including the ability to resolve critical issues with limited information and high judgment.
β’ Exceptional negotiation and executive communication abilities.
β’ Strong analytical, pragmatic, and customer-oriented problem-solving skills.
β’ Proven experience working within matrixed/global environments.
β’ Familiarity with life sciences compliance topics, including data privacy/GDPR, competition, and anti-bribery regulations.
β’ Knowledge of international contracting and multi-jurisdictional risk assessments.
β’ Competence in modern legal technology, including document management systems, e-signature, CLM, and collaboration platforms.
β’ Willingness to travel 10β20% both domestically and internationally.
