This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Act as a trusted advisor to business leadership by offering strategic legal counsel on employment issues, regulatory compliance, corporate governance, risk management, and operational initiatives.
• Oversee legal functions such as contract negotiation and administration, procurement compliance, corporate transactions, intellectual property issues, litigation support, and governance activities.
• Provide legal advice on employment issues, regulatory compliance, policies, procedures, and risk mitigation strategies.
• Manage corporate legal tasks, including intellectual property, mergers and acquisitions, financing agreements, litigation, and governance matters.
• Keep abreast of legislative and regulatory changes and inform stakeholders about business implications and necessary actions.
• Draft, negotiate, review, and manage client, vendor, licensing, confidentiality, data transfer, and other commercial agreements.
• Review and provide guidance on federal, state, and local procurement regulations, contract compliance, and bidding processes.
• Administer the contract management system and supervise outside counsel.
• Support compliance initiatives through risk assessments, provider applications, attestations, internal investigations, and regulatory actions.
• Advise on information privacy, data security, program security, and third-party financial and compliance audits.
• Collaborate with business and technology teams to implement legal technology solutions and enhance operational efficiency.
• Supervise one or more Assistant General Counsels and/or paralegals.
• Experience with government procurement processes.
• Proficient in reviewing and drafting contractual documents.
• Knowledge of state and federal information privacy and security regulations.
• Familiarity with the healthcare marketplace, including Medicaid regulatory frameworks.
• Ability to draft clear and concise documents such as policies, contracts, and memoranda.
• Capacity to provide sound, well-reasoned legal and practical judgment and advice.
• Experience in managing staff.
• Strong legal, writing, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to learn and manage the company’s contract management system.
• Juris Doctor degree.
• Current license to practice law.
• At least 10 years of relevant transactional, corporate, and compliance experience as an attorney.
• Previous in-house and/or large firm experience is preferred.
• Prior experience with Medicaid programs is preferred.
