This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.

📋 Description

• Report directly to the Chief Legal Officer and act as a reliable legal partner to LabConnect's business teams.

• Supervise the contracts management team.

• Draft, negotiate, and oversee the complete lifecycle of commercial agreements, including NDAs, MSAs, SOWs, COs, DPAs, BAAs, and their amendments.

• Provide guidance to commercial, operations, and project management teams regarding legal and regulatory obligations.

• Counsel on regulatory and compliance issues across LabConnect's global operations, encompassing commercial regulations and data privacy.

• Create and revise internal policies, standard operating procedures, and contract guidelines.

• Enhance legal processes, templates, playbooks, and contract workflows.

• Lead and mentor contract managers and specialists.

• Identify and evaluate legal and commercial risks, escalating concerns to the Chief Legal Officer.

• Assist in strategic transactions, including laboratory alliance expansions, new service launches, acquisitions, and partnerships.

• Perform due diligence and draft or review relevant transaction documents.

• Determine team priorities, distribute workloads, review outputs, set performance standards, conduct evaluations, and develop growth plans.

• Travel approximately 10% of the time, mainly to LabConnect's Raleigh, NC headquarters.


⛳️ Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

• Active membership in good standing with at least one U.S. state bar.

• 5–7 years of experience in advising on commercial and operational issues.

• Preferably experienced in laboratory services, clinical research, life sciences, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, or other highly regulated sectors.

• Capacity to independently assess complex legal matters and propose commercially viable solutions.

• Skill in synthesizing large amounts of information and delivering succinct recommendations.

• Strong problem-solving, analytical, advisory, and cross-functional consultation abilities.

• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.

• Competence in managing competing priorities and meeting strict deadlines.

• Refined skills in contract drafting and redlining.

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word.

• Familiarity with CRM systems like Salesforce, CLM systems such as LinkSquares, legal AI tools like GC AI, and e-signature platforms such as DocuSign.

• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both orally and in writing.

• Capability to remain seated at a desk or workstation for prolonged periods.

• Adequate dexterity to operate a computer, keyboard, and standard office equipment.
