This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients on a daily basis
• Provide enhanced cost management services for substantial capital construction projects
• Assist with renewable energy, transmission, industrial, and infrastructure initiatives
• Negotiate change orders throughout the entire construction lifecycle
• Create and deliver cost plans, estimates, and project forecasts
• Evaluate and support cost estimates alongside design and construction teams
• Reconcile project modifications and verify contractor cost data
• Collaborate with stakeholders to compile cost reports and update estimates
• Assess contractor submissions and formulate commercial recommendations
• Gather cost information from contractors, suppliers, consultants, and design teams
• Offer commercial insights based on cost implications and project priorities
• Address project and commercial challenges with minimal oversight
• Execute cost checks, valuations, and validation processes on intricate projects
• Oversee change control, contingency, commitment tracking, and cost variance reporting
• Prepare funding presentations and assist in value engineering efforts
• Develop and sustain cost plans throughout the design and construction phases
• Review pricing from contractors and subcontractors while aiding commercial negotiations
• Conduct quantity surveying, cost controls, and change management tasks
• Manage cost audits, benchmarking, forecasting, and monthly reporting
• Assist in final account negotiations and project closure activities
• Maintain benchmarking databases and historical cost records
• Mentor junior team members and facilitate team development
• Aid in commission financial management, forecasting, and reporting
• Implement company systems, procedures, and best practices for delivery
• Foster a collaborative culture and uphold high standards of client service
• Comply with relevant SOX control responsibilities
• 5-7+ years of experience in cost engineering, cost management, estimating, or project controls for major capital projects
• Proven experience in leading cost management efforts on medium to large-scale construction projects
• Background in supporting renewable energy, transmission, utility, infrastructure, industrial, or substantial capital programs
• Construction consultancy experience is highly preferred
• In-depth knowledge of estimating, forecasting, change management, cost control, and project controls
• Proficient in developing and reviewing budgets, forecasts, cash flows, contingencies, and cost reports
• Solid understanding of procurement strategies, value management, and value engineering
• Familiarity with SAP is preferred
• Experience with EcoSys is preferred
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Cost Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or a related discipline
• RICS accreditation, or progress towards it, is preferred
• Outstanding communication, analytical, and stakeholder management abilities
• Experience supporting multi-site programs or projects spread across various locations is preferred
• Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team
