This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Carolina.
• Manage large-scale construction and infrastructure project budgets from start to finish.
• Guide and mentor the onsite cost team, ensuring compliance with cost control procedures.
• Develop and verify project budgets while monitoring financial performance during the project lifecycle.
• Review construction contract documents, assess, approve, document, and communicate change orders.
• Oversee internal change-order approval processes in line with delegation of authority protocols.
• Evaluate contractors’ requests, cost forecasts, cash flow projections, monthly progress payments, and variance reports.
• Reconcile actual spending against project budgets and provide actionable insights to senior leadership.
• Lead and assess procurement processes, ensuring vendor and subcontractor contracts align with project budgets and terms.
• Track buyout savings and evaluate financial risks arising from subcontractor performance.
• Act as the primary financial liaison among project teams, contractors, subcontractors, finance, and external consultants.
• Organize meetings focused on financial performance, risks, and change-order updates.
• Prepare cost reports, cash flow analyses, monthly financial reviews, and forecasts.
• Assist the finance team with the monthly loan draw process and necessary documentation.
• Identify and mitigate cost-related risks while ensuring adherence to regulations, policies, and contract terms.
• Spearhead internal training and mentorship programs, sharing best practices in cost management.
• Manage third-party cost auditing teams and consultants.
• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, finance, or accounting; or relevant professional experience.
• A minimum of ten years’ experience in cost control, construction, or project management, including prior experience in a senior or leadership role.
• In-depth knowledge of construction contract documents, change management, and budget control processes.
• Advanced skills in financial and project management software such as Workday, e-Builder, Procore, and Autodesk Construction Cloud.
• Demonstrated ability to provide detailed and accurate financial forecasts, track project expenses, and manage budgets throughout the project lifecycle.
• Capability to analyze complex financial data and clearly present recommendations to senior stakeholders.
• A Master’s degree or professional certifications such as PMP, CCP, or similar qualifications are advantageous.
• At least three years of experience in a leadership or management role.
• Comprehensive knowledge of industry-specific regulations and best practices in cost control.
• Strong leadership abilities with a proven track record in team management, collaboration, and performance enhancement.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with internal teams, contractors, and third-party consultants.
