Senior Cost Accountant, CPA

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.

📋 Description

• Stay updated on modifications to cost accounting standards and best practices.

• Assist with the month-end and year-end closing procedures to ensure timely and precise financial reporting.

• Review inventory transactions, comparing standard and actual costs, as well as variance accounts.

• Support the implementation and integration of ERP systems to enhance cost accounting processes and data integrity.

• Aid the Finance team with various ad hoc projects and special reports.

• Maintain precise financial records and collaborate with Supply Chain, Operations, and Accounting to optimize financial processes.

• Prepare and analyze monthly cost reports, cost forecasts, budgets, financial analyses, and cost audits.

• Monitor inventory accuracy, including packaging.

• Conduct account reconciliations for all variance accounts.

• Maintain and analyze cost data, ensuring the correct allocation of labor, materials, and overhead.

• Provide variance analysis, conduct cost-related investigations, offer operational insights, and deliver decision support.

• Contribute to initiatives focused on ERP, reporting, automation, workflow, and financial process enhancements.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• CPA designation is highly preferred.

• Extensive experience in cost accounting, inventory accounting, manufacturing accounting, retail accounting, or a similar operational setting.

• Strong grasp of cost allocation methodologies, inventory accounting, variance analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables, Power Query, XLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, complex formulas, financial modeling, and analysis of large datasets.

• Proven ability to identify issues, investigate root causes, and propose practical solutions.

• Exceptional attention to detail combined with an understanding of broader business implications.

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.

• Capable of managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines in a dynamic environment.

• Ownership mindset with a history of enhancing processes rather than merely maintaining them.

• Relevant experience in food manufacturing, food distribution, consumer products, logistics, supply chain, trading, or retail settings.

• Experience in high-growth organizations.

• Background in ERP implementation, automation, systems integration, or business intelligence projects.

• Experience supporting U.S.-based companies while working remotely within global teams.
