This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Offer expert-level guidance on employment-related issues.
• Oversee major legal and compliance projects.
• Direct litigation, regulatory concerns, dispute resolution, and external legal counsel.
• May supervise attorneys or other legal administrative staff.
• Counsel business leaders and Human Resources on employment law issues impacting a nationwide staffing and talent solutions firm.
• Manage workplace investigations, accommodations, leaves of absence, wage and hour compliance, employee classification, restrictive covenants, and trade secret issues.
• Cultivate relationships and collaborate with Human Resources, business leaders, external counsel, and various stakeholders.
• Evaluate risks and facilitate informed decision-making.
• Create legally compliant and operationally feasible solutions.
• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
• Active membership in at least one U.S. state bar.
• Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in employment law.
• Preferably possess a blend of law firm and in-house experience.
• Experience in advising on harassment, discrimination, retaliation, and whistleblower issues.
• Knowledge of wage and hour compliance and litigation, including state-specific employment regulations.
• Familiarity with restrictive covenants, such as non-competition, non-solicitation, confidentiality, and trade secret matters.
• Experience with employment policies, investigations, and workplace accommodations.
• Proficient in counseling multi-state employers regarding workplace compliance, employee relations, and risk management.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
• Capability to convert legal requirements into actionable guidance for business and Human Resources stakeholders.
• Aptitude for managing competing priorities and providing prompt, clear legal advice in a dynamic environment.
• Experience in advising and managing disputes for staffing firms is highly preferred.
• Familiarity with employment law issues in the staffing industry, including joint employment, contingent workforce arrangements, client complaints involving contractors, restrictive covenants, and multi-jurisdictional compliance is a significant advantage.
• Successful completion of a background check is mandatory as a condition of employment.
