Senior Corporate Counsel – Associate General Counsel, Disputes

πŸ“‹ Description

β€’ Oversee the company's global disputes portfolio from start to finish β€” encompassing initial assessment and pre-litigation strategies through to resolution β€” covering commercial, employment, intellectual property, and non-practicing entity issues.

β€’ Direct the company's approach to government and regulatory inquiries, including investigations, enforcement actions, subpoenas, preservation and takedown demands, escalated privacy complaints, and requests from both domestic and international law enforcement agencies.

β€’ Collaborate with cross-functional teams across Engineering, Product, Sales, Security, Finance, and People to identify potential disputes early on and offer practical recommendations that align legal exposure with business goals.

β€’ Provide guidance to the People team on employment matters and dispute prevention, while assisting the commercial team when claims or threats arise during negotiations and customer escalations.

β€’ Advise executives and, when necessary, the Board on litigation risks, risk tolerance, and new legal and regulatory developments.

β€’ Select and oversee outside counsel in various jurisdictions, and develop scalable processes, playbooks, and legal hold and discovery practices that support a rapidly growing global business.


⛳️ Requirements

β€’ Approximately 6–10 years of experience in litigation or disputes at a prominent law firm, an in-house legal department, or a combination of the two.

β€’ Proven experience managing complex commercial disputes independently, from initial case assessment to resolution.

β€’ Demonstrated success in overseeing outside counsel, litigation budgets, discovery processes, legal holds, and eDiscovery.

β€’ Strong judgment, solid ownership, and the ability to navigate uncertainty while providing practical solutions that facilitate responsible business growth.

β€’ Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with the capability to simplify complex legal issues into actionable business advice.

β€’ Poise and credibility in high-pressure scenarios, including direct engagement with law enforcement, regulators, and opposing counsel.

β€’ Ability to rapidly grasp adjacent practice areas and manage multiple high-priority matters in a dynamic environment.

β€’ Experience with employment disputes, internal investigations, or government and regulatory inquiries is advantageous.

β€’ In-house experience in supporting enterprise software, cloud services, data centers, artificial intelligence, or cybersecurity is a plus.

β€’ A J.D. and active bar admission are required. A combination of law firm and in-house experience is preferred.
