This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +29 more states.
• Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and supporting schedules across various accounting domains.
• Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes.
• Analyze fluctuations in the balance sheet and income statement, and conduct variance analysis.
• Collaborate with accounting leadership to ensure the completeness and accuracy of financial results.
• Aid in evaluating complex accounting transactions and business initiatives in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
• Prepare technical accounting analyses and documentation.
• Contribute to quarterly and annual financial reporting and disclosure support.
• Assist in the implementation and adoption of new accounting standards.
• Participate in external audit engagements, create audit support schedules, and address auditor inquiries.
• Maintain and enhance internal controls and accounting documentation.
• Support SOX-readiness and compliance efforts.
• Identify opportunities to enhance accounting processes, reporting, controls, and closing activities.
• Assist with automation initiatives to improve efficiency and minimize manual tasks.
• Collaborate with Finance and Accounting teams to establish scalable processes.
• Work closely with Treasury, Legal, Operations, Revenue Accounting, FP&A, and Finance teams on new projects.
• Research the accounting implications of operational and commercial decisions.
• Bridge the gap between technical accounting requirements and practical business execution.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 4-7 years of progressive experience in accounting.
• Experience in public accounting is required.
• Strong preference for candidates with Big Four experience (PwC, Deloitte, EY, or KPMG).
• Experience supporting audits, financial reporting, and corporate accounting functions.
• In-depth knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
• Proficient in preparing account reconciliations, journal entries, and financial analyses.
• Advanced Excel skills, with experience handling large datasets.
• CPA certification or active pursuit of CPA is preferred.
• Experience in a high-growth, private equity-backed, technology, logistics, eCommerce, or service-oriented business is advantageous.
• Previous exposure to technical accounting research and memorandum preparation.
• Familiarity with lease accounting (ASC 842), stock compensation, debt accounting, or revenue recognition.
• Experience with Alteryx, Power BI, Business Central, or similar automation tools.
• Familiarity with AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, or comparable technologies.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States.
