Senior Core Banking, Platform Portfolio Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.

📋 Description

• Build and oversee a team of both internal and external technology experts.

• Take full ownership of the delivery process and production management for portfolio modeling, rebalancing, trading, subscription, and financial data provider platforms.

• Implement delivery governance and adopt agile/waterfall methodologies.

• Collaborate with Product Management to synchronize priorities, scope, and expected outcomes.

• Facilitate cross-functional delivery efforts involving Technology, Product, Operations, and vendors.

• Oversee plans, cutovers, dependencies, risks, testing readiness, and releases.

• Create the platform roadmap, which includes modernization and integration/API strategies.

• Provide technical supervision for architecture and integrations across both mainframe and distributed platforms, as well as downstream reporting.

• Enhance the core banking technology stack and incorporate modern technology into core banking processes.

• Integrate core banking data and events into enterprise portfolio workflows.

• Manage data lineage, quality, and timing throughout core banking activities.

• Take ownership and report on platform stability, reliability, resilience, performance/latency, capacity, and recovery planning.

• Implement observability through monitoring, alerting, logging, and tracing mechanisms.

• Propel stability and backlog initiatives.

• Lead incident/problem management, maintain on-call readiness, and conduct root-cause analysis.

• Ensure high-quality releases and cutovers, complete with rollback plans.

• Collaborate with Risk, Compliance, and Security teams to establish controls and remediation efforts.

• Select and oversee vendors and partners, including contract management, SLAs, and delivery quality standards.

• Manage personnel and software costs in alignment with the financial plan.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven track record of delivering integrated vendor and/or internally developed trading/portfolio management platforms from requirements and vendor selection through implementation, cutover, and production support.

• Technical expertise to evaluate designs, question assumptions, and make trade-offs concerning performance, resiliency, data quality, and security.

• Experience in governing agile/waterfall delivery, testing strategies, release/change processes, environments, observability, and incident/problem management.

• Over 7 years of experience delivering and managing core banking system technology, including accountability for production platforms and releases.

• More than 7 years of experience leading technology teams, encompassing hiring, performance management, and coaching responsibilities.

• Excellent influencing and communication capabilities, with a knack for partnering and negotiating at senior leadership levels.

• Proven ability to lead high-risk system delivery, including planning for cutovers, change control, and release readiness.

• Strong production mindset with a focus on reliability, performance/latency, recovery, and incident/problem management.

• Capability to collaborate with Product teams and the Chief Investment Office to convert strategy into actionable roadmaps and execution plans.

• Proficiency in maintaining data integrity and control in a regulated environment.
