Preconstruction Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Oversee and direct the preconstruction phase, guiding it from initial design to readiness for construction.

• Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and clients to establish project scope, budget, timelines, and objectives.

• Organize and participate in preconstruction meetings with all relevant stakeholders.

• Create and manage comprehensive project cost estimates that encompass materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor proposals.

• Conduct value engineering assessments and pinpoint opportunities for cost savings.

• Develop and oversee initial construction schedules along with detailed project timelines.

• Recognize preconstruction risks and formulate strategies for mitigation.

• Review contractual documents for potential issues or inconsistencies.

• Maintain thorough records and documentation, including drawings, specifications, and contracts.

• Provide regular updates to senior leadership, clients, and stakeholders.

• Lead and mentor the preconstruction team.

• Foster and maintain relationships with clients, subcontractors, and external partners.

• Serve as the main point of contact for clients during the preconstruction phase.

⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline is preferred.

• A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in construction management or preconstruction is required.

• Demonstrated experience in managing complex construction projects from inception to completion.

• Strong understanding of construction processes, project management, and preconstruction practices.

• Proficiency in construction management software such as Procore, Buildertrend, and ProEst.

• Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite.

• Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal abilities.

• Strong attention to detail and adept problem-solving skills.

• Capacity to perform effectively under pressure and meet stringent deadlines.

• LEED AP, PMP, or other relevant certifications are advantageous.

• OSHA 30-hour certification or equivalent safety training is required.
