This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee the workflow of IRB meetings by evaluating incoming submissions and delegating reviews to Board members.
• Organize meeting space/platform for IRB sessions.
• Prepare informed consent forms (ICFs) before and after meetings in compliance with relevant federal regulations.
• Facilitate communication among Client Services, Board reviewers, and clients.
• Draft proposed meeting outcomes for the Chair's evaluation.
• Manage the web platform for IRB meetings.
• Provide support before and during meetings to Chairs and Board Members to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Address complex issues that arise during IRB meetings.
• Recognize and resolve matters that require the attention of the IRB and Chair.
• Challenge or clarify opinions and inquiries during IRB meetings.
• Collaborate with Client Services to report special issues to the IRB.
• Analyze and suggest enhancements to IRB review procedures.
• Conduct thorough pre-reviews of consent forms to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Revise consent forms to meet regulatory standards and operational guidelines.
• Implement agreed-upon language in consent forms as per client agreements.
• Work with stakeholders to incorporate necessary revisions.
• Perform quality control checks on consent forms.
• Manage an average of weekly IRB meetings and additional Board meetings as needed.
• Mentor new team members upon request.
• Minimum of 2 years of IRB experience.
• Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Certified IRB Professional (CIP) or the attainment of CIP within one year of eligibility.
• In-depth knowledge of federal laws and guidelines related to Human Subjects Research Protection.
• Proficient in MS Word and Outlook.
• Completion of standard Human Subjects Research Training, such as CITI, as required by management.
• Completion of organizational training requirements.
• Familiarity with U.S. and/or Canadian Regulations and Guidelines in Human Subject Protections and research areas.
• Capability to sit or stand for extended periods at a stationary workstation.
• Ability to regularly lift, carry, and lower objects weighing up to 10 lbs.
• Ability to learn and understand basic instructions.
• Strong focus and attention to tasks and responsibilities.
• Effective verbal communication skills, including listening, understanding, responding, and speaking.
