
Senior Contracts Manager β Industrial & Power Construction

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Minnesota.
β’ Oversee the entire lifecycle of construction contracts, which includes reviewing, negotiating, executing, administering, amending, closing out, and settling final agreements.
β’ Examine prime contracts, subcontracts, purchase orders, change orders, exhibits, insurance stipulations, and project-specific terms and conditions.
β’ Identify contractual risks, obligations, deadlines, and potential exposures, and communicate crucial issues to project leadership and senior management.
β’ Collaborate with project managers, estimators, superintendents, accounting, legal counsel, owners, architects, subcontractors, and vendors.
β’ Prepare, review, negotiate, and manage contract modifications, change orders, notices, RFIs, payment terms, claims, and contractual correspondence.
β’ Monitor contract deliverables, notice requirements, insurance and bonding stipulations, lien waivers, warranties, retainage, and other compliance obligations.
β’ Supervise subcontractor and vendor adherence to contractual scope, schedule, safety, insurance, payment, and documentation requirements.
β’ Aid project teams in handling claims, disputes, delays, differing site conditions, extensions of time, and other contractual matters.
β’ Review payment applications, invoices, change order requests, and accompanying documentation for contractual compliance and accuracy.
β’ Maintain thorough and organized contract files, including executed agreements, amendments, correspondence, and supporting materials.
β’ Assist in project risk management by pinpointing potential cost, schedule, scope, and legal issues before they escalate.
β’ Ensure that contract administration practices adhere to company policies, applicable laws, project requirements, and industry standards.
β’ Develop and sustain contract management procedures, templates, logs, and tracking systems.
β’ Provide guidance and training to project teams on contract requirements, documentation, notice provisions, and risk management.
β’ Engage in project meetings to offer contractual guidance regarding scope, responsibilities, schedules, changes, and dispute avoidance.
β’ Support project closeout activities, including final payments, punch-list completion, warranties, releases, lien documentation, retention, and contract reconciliation.
β’ Foster strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, vendors, consultants, and internal stakeholders while safeguarding the company's contractual and financial interests.
β’ Extensive experience in construction contract management, contract administration, or commercial management.
β’ Strong background in supporting large, complex construction projects.
β’ Preference for experience with projects in Power Generation, Chemical, Advanced Manufacturing, Pharmaceutical, Data Centers, Agriculture, Food & Beverage, Renewable Energy, Central Utility Plants, or Heavy Industrial.
β’ Solid understanding of prime contracts, subcontracts, purchase orders, change orders, claims, notices, insurance, bonding, payment terms, lien requirements, and closeout procedures.
β’ Proven ability to identify and mitigate contractual, financial, schedule, and commercial risks.
β’ Strong skills in contract negotiation and administration.
β’ Capacity to interpret complex contract documents and translate contractual requirements into actionable guidance for project teams.
β’ Experience in managing change orders, claims, disputes, delays, differing site conditions, and extensions of time.
β’ Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple projects, deadlines, and contractual obligations.
β’ Ability to work effectively with project executives, operations teams, legal counsel, owners, subcontractors, vendors, and other stakeholders.
β’ Strong business judgment and a proactive approach to risk management.
β’ A bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Business, Engineering, Law, or a related field is preferred.
