This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Minnesota.

šŸ“‹ Description

• Oversee the entire lifecycle of construction contracts, encompassing review, negotiation, execution, administration, amendments, closeout, and final settlement.

• Evaluate prime contracts, subcontracts, purchase orders, change orders, exhibits, insurance requirements, and terms and conditions specific to projects.

• Recognize contractual risks, obligations, deadlines, and potential liabilities, and effectively communicate key issues to project leadership and senior management.

• Collaborate with project managers, estimators, superintendents, accounting, legal counsel, owners, architects, subcontractors, and vendors.

• Prepare, review, negotiate, and manage contract modifications, change orders, notices, RFIs, payment provisions, claims, and related correspondence.

• Monitor contract deliverables, notice requirements, insurance and bonding requirements, lien waivers, warranties, retainage, and other compliance obligations.

• Supervise subcontractor and vendor adherence to contractual scope, schedule, safety, insurance, payment, and documentation standards.

• Assist project teams in navigating claims, disputes, delays, differing site conditions, extensions of time, and other contractual matters.

• Assess payment applications, invoices, change order requests, and supporting documentation for compliance with contract terms and accuracy.

• Maintain comprehensive and organized contract files, including executed agreements, amendments, correspondence, and supporting documentation.

• Aid in project risk management by identifying potential cost, schedule, scope, and legal issues before they escalate.

• Ensure contract administration practices are in line with company policies, relevant laws, project requirements, and industry standards.

• Develop and uphold contract management procedures, templates, logs, and tracking systems.

• Offer guidance and training to project teams regarding contract requirements, documentation, notice provisions, and risk management strategies.

• Engage in project meetings to provide contractual guidance concerning scope, responsibilities, schedules, changes, and dispute avoidance.

• Assist with project closeout activities, including final payments, punch-list completion, warranties, releases, lien documentation, retention, and contract reconciliation.

• Foster strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, vendors, consultants, and internal stakeholders while safeguarding the company's contractual and financial interests.


ā›³ļø Requirements

• Extensive experience in construction contract management, contract administration, or commercial management.

• Solid background in supporting large, intricate construction projects.

• Experience with projects in Power Generation, Chemical, Advanced Manufacturing, Pharmaceutical, Data Centers, Agriculture, Food & Beverage, Renewable Energy, Central Utility Plants, or Heavy Industrial is strongly preferred.

• Strong comprehension of prime contracts, subcontracts, purchase orders, change orders, claims, notices, insurance, bonding, payment provisions, lien requirements, and closeout procedures.

• Proven ability to identify and mitigate contractual, financial, schedule, and commercial risks.

• Strong skills in contract negotiation and administration.

• Capability to interpret complex contract documents and convert contractual requirements into actionable guidance for project teams.

• Experience managing change orders, claims, disputes, delays, differing site conditions, and extensions of time.

• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to juggle multiple projects, deadlines, and contractual commitments.

• Ability to collaborate effectively with project executives, operations teams, legal counsel, owners, subcontractors, vendors, and other stakeholders.

• Strong business acumen and a proactive approach to risk management.

• A Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Business, Engineering, Law, or a related field is preferred.
