Senior Consultant – Strategic Advisory Services

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Japan.

📋 Description

• Oversee the delivery of extensive and intricate strategic advisory service projects.

• Collaborate with technical, management, and executive personnel across various industry sectors.

• Proactively evaluate and enhance cybersecurity and incident response programs.

• Assist organizations in advancing their security posture prior to incidents occurring.

• Create and facilitate innovative scenarios to test clients’ response capabilities.

• Generate and guarantee the provision of high-quality written and verbal reports, presentations, observations, and recommendations to customer management.

• Recognize and address emerging trends in cybersecurity.

• Convey perspectives from both government and private sectors.

• Share thought leadership and experiences with internal programs and teams.

• Contribute to the development of methodologies and other administrative tasks.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 4-10 years of experience in areas such as IT / Security Management Consulting, Security Program Development, Security Analysis / Operations, Business Strategy / Risk Analysis, Cybersecurity Policy, or Public / Government Affairs.

• Familiarity with technical and operational cybersecurity, including the implementation of controls, enhancement of architectures, organizational alignment, and cyber policy reviews.

• Proven experience in developing, managing, and implementing security programs.

• Background in SOC, CSIRT, Fusion Center, or centralized security initiatives.

• Leadership or significant delivery experience within organizational security teams like SOCs or IR teams.

• Knowledge of cybersecurity from a practitioner’s perspective, with the capability to consolidate and convey results to senior leaders.

• Understanding of organizational risk frameworks and experience in applying them to cyber risks.

• Experience in creating cybersecurity policies, plans, and playbooks, and implementing them in practice.

• Extensive experience assisting government organizations or entities closely aligned with governments in refining cybersecurity priorities.

• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to foster and sustain positive working relationships with clients and team members.

• Capability to undertake complex strategic analysis and development tasks independently.

• Strong time management skills, including the ability to handle multiple projects concurrently.

• Willingness to travel up to 30% of the time, often with less than three weeks’ notice.

• Demonstrated experience in leveraging AI technologies to enhance decision-making, streamline workflows and processes, improve efficiency, and achieve business outcomes.

• A BA or BS degree in a relevant field or equivalent military/work experience and/or training in lieu of a degree.
