Director, Corporate Development – Strategic Finance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Collaborate closely with the CEO, executive leadership, and Board of Directors on strategic, financial, and capital formation initiatives.

• Assist in capital strategy, strategic finance, business intelligence, and critical corporate development opportunities.

• Explore intricate opportunities and formulate clear recommendations.

• Drive strategic initiatives and recommendations through to execution.

• Create innovative approaches to capital and growth.

• Act as a trusted advisor to the CEO, CFO, Board, and investors.

• Contribute to the company's growth and the scaling of its wildfire-risk-reduction technology platform.

• Assess new markets, technologies, R&D or laboratory initiatives, partnerships, and other strategic opportunities.

⛳️ Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in corporate development, strategic finance, investment banking, private equity, management consulting, investing, or related fields.

• Proven experience interacting directly with Boards of Directors, institutional investors, and senior executive stakeholders.

• Experience with capital formation, fundraising, or intricate financing transactions, including assessing innovative and non-traditional capital sources.

• Strong capabilities in strategic finance, such as financial modeling, scenario analysis, long-range planning, capital allocation, and investment assessment.

• Demonstrated capacity to independently explore new markets, technologies, R&D or laboratory initiatives, partnerships, and other strategic opportunities, and translate findings into actionable recommendations.

• Excellent analytical and quantitative skills.

• Outstanding communication skills, with experience in developing materials for Boards, investors, and executive-level audiences.

• Preferred: experience in investment banking, private equity, growth equity, corporate development, or a similarly demanding financial environment.

• Preferred: experience in facilitating significant capital raises, ideally across various financing structures.

• Preferred: experience with project finance, structured capital, government funding, strategic investment, or other non-traditional capital sources.

• Preferred: background in supporting M&A, partnerships, new business opportunities, or other corporate development efforts.

• Preferred: experience in a high-growth, investor-backed company setting.

• Preferred: exposure to sectors such as climate, forestry, infrastructure, energy, construction, industrial services, or other asset-intensive industries.
