This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Develop and promote advanced, intricate programs for nuclear power initiatives that encompass design, operational excellence, safety, maintenance, and project management.
• Lead technical decision-making within project teams that are responsible for designing, modifying, and analyzing both new and existing power plant control systems, with a particular focus on digital enhancements.
• Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve issues related to instrumentation and controls engineering.
• Coordinate systems design efforts to ensure compliance with specifications, codes, and client requirements.
• Execute digital systems design development for PLC, DCS, HSI, and networked computer systems related to nuclear plant operations.
• Draft functional system requirement specifications, conduct quality assessments, and perform critical digital reviews.
• Engage in consulting-level tasks for digital IoT, innovation, and pioneering strategic projects.
• Prepare and evaluate scaling, uncertainty, and setpoint calculations for both analog and digital controls applications.
• Create design-input documentation for technical drawings, including cable block diagrams and schematics.
• Collaborate with vendors and develop as well as review equipment purchase specifications.
• Produce clear and concise reports and studies that communicate technical information effectively.
• Conduct independent reviews of colleagues' calculations and drawing preparations.
• Participate in client meetings and site visits to confirm project scope and ensure client satisfaction.
• Provide support for station outage activities as necessary.
• A Bachelor of Science degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program.
• At least 20 years of experience in design engineering for instrumentation and controls systems within a project team setting in heavy industrial facilities.
• Concentration on integrated, detailed system design for either new plants or the replacement of existing facilities.
• Strong technical knowledge of available equipment and established pre-engineered systems to facilitate systems design.
• Experience in reviewing design drawings prepared by others.
• Authorization to work in the U.S.; the company does not provide sponsorship for work authorization in the U.S.
• Previous experience acting as a firm/client liaison in a support or lead engineering capacity is preferred.
• A Professional Engineer (PE) license is advantageous but not mandatory.
• A broad background in offering technical support for nuclear plant projects is appreciated but not required.
