This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
β’ Manage a portfolio of intricate reinsurance claims related to asbestos, environmental issues, and other latent injury claims independently.
β’ Assess liability, damages, and contractual obligations to facilitate informed and strategic results for claims.
β’ Interpret and apply facultative and treaty reinsurance contracts, CGL, umbrella, and excess policies to ascertain coverage.
β’ Set accurate case reserves utilizing cedent reporting, internal assessments, and designated authority levels.
β’ Obtain management approval for exposures that exceed authority limits.
β’ Create and implement action plans for evaluating, negotiating, and resolving claims.
β’ Maintain comprehensive and prompt documentation that demonstrates clear reasoning, adherence to internal guidelines, and proactive management communication.
β’ Stay updated on emerging legal trends, industry advancements, and important case law.
β’ Utilize legal and industry expertise to improve claims strategies and decision-making.
β’ Act as a corporate witness or representative in litigation, arbitration, and other dispute resolution scenarios when necessary.
β’ Collaborate with internal teams, management, external cedents, and brokers.
β’ No supervisory duties are involved.
β’ A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience is preferred; however, candidates with 3+ years of demonstrated capability will be considered.
β’ Strong understanding of reinsurance contracts, principles of insurance coverage, claims processes, and applicable case law.
β’ Experience in evaluating and resolving complex bodily injury and property damage reinsurance claims, particularly those involving mass-tort exposures.
β’ Ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams, management, external cedents, and brokers in both virtual and in-person settings.
β’ Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, and Copilot.
β’ Quick learning ability for new technology and claims systems.
β’ Excellent written communication skills.
β’ Capable of producing clear, concise, and well-reasoned documentation.
β’ Successful completion of a background investigation is required.
β’ Allstate typically does not sponsor individuals for employment-based visas for this position.
β’ Must have a dedicated, distraction-free workspace when working from home.
β’ Appropriate desk and seating arrangement is necessary for remote work.
β’ Reliable internet connection with a minimum speed of 50 MB download and 5 MB upload is required.
