Senior Consultant, AI Data Engineering – Microsoft Azure

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Romania.

📋 Description

• Create and implement contemporary data platforms and engineering solutions.

• Construct data pipelines, lakehouse frameworks, semantic data models, and data products tailored for Analytics, AI, and GenAI applications.

• Connect Data Engineering with AI Engineering, emphasizing RAG architectures, Conversational BI, AI-driven data products, and LLM-based applications.

• Develop and incorporate AI agents and agentic components for pipeline creation, data quality, automation, monitoring, and self-service analytics.

• Utilize Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, Snowflake, and dbt to design scalable data and AI solutions.

• Architect comprehensive designs spanning the data lifecycle, covering integration, transformation, governance, quality assurance, and consumption.

• Guide clients on technology choices, target architectures, migration plans, platform upgrades, and AI assimilation into data strategies.

• Manage workstreams or projects, ensuring practical execution, technical excellence, and measurable business value for clients.

• Contribute to best practices, reusable resources, technical standards, and innovation initiatives within the Data & AI portfolio.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated professional experience in Data Engineering, Cloud Data Platforms, or Data & AI Consulting.

• Prior experience in consulting, delivery, or project-oriented environments is preferred.

• Hands-on experience in designing and implementing data pipelines, data models, lakehouse frameworks, or cloud data warehouse solutions.

• Strong command of SQL and Python or PySpark.

• Practical knowledge of ETL/ELT processes, APIs, data quality frameworks, CI/CD, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).

• Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, Databricks, Snowflake, dbt, Power BI, and Microsoft Power Platform.

• Understanding of contemporary data platforms for AI, Generative AI, and advanced analytics.

• Practical experience with LLM-based applications, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), Agentic AI, Azure AI Foundry, MLOps, or LLMOps is highly desirable.

• Strong architectural mindset linking business needs, data platform capabilities, AI applications, and operational considerations.

• Structured and pragmatic approach to work.

• Excellent communication skills and ability to manage stakeholders effectively.

• Proficient in German, with a minimum C1 level.

• Competency in the English language.

• Willingness to travel to client sites as necessary.
