This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.
• Design and manage data contracts, including tables for critical metrics, versioning in dbt, commits, tests, and cataloging.
• Take ownership of analytical modeling: layers, conventions, and dimensional models in dbt, along with documentation and CI.
• Strengthen the data platform through ingestion, orchestration, quality control, and observability.
• Enable self-service via a semantic layer and models in Omni and Hex.
• Create high-trust dashboards and reports for the board, external partners, and regulatory reporting.
• Collaborate embedded within a product/business team and contribute to cross-functional work on contracts, quality, and standards.
• Elevate team standards through code reviews, pairing, and technical mentoring.
• Facilitate Data Science and ML with reliable datasets, features, and pipelines for production, ensuring results are fed back into the product.
• Over 4 years of experience in data (analytics engineering, data engineering, or BI with strong modeling), with at least 2 years as a senior or technical lead.
• Advanced SQL skills and a solid understanding of analytical modeling: dimensional, incremental loads, idempotency, and history management.
• Experience in deploying data pipelines and transformations to production using tools like dbt or equivalent.
• Good practices in structure, quality, and testing, with reusable components, documentation, CI/CD, and job/workflow orchestration.
• Experience in building pipelines, automations, and data processes using Python or equivalent technologies.
• Familiarity with engineering best practices such as Git, PRs/code reviews, testing, and CI/CD.
• Experience with an orchestrator (Dagster, Airflow) and managed ingestion tools (Airbyte, Fivetran, or equivalent).
• Proficient in PostgreSQL and/or an analytical warehouse (Redshift, Snowflake, BigQuery), with performance and cost considerations in mind.
• Experience building semantic layers or BI models for self-service queries (Omni, Looker, Hex, Metabase, Power BI, or other BI tools).
• Ability to transform ambiguous questions into metric definitions that can withstand discussion and defend them with data.
• Experience mentoring other engineers and establishing enduring standards.
• Native Spanish speaker with professional English proficiency (documentation and tools in English).
• Familiarity with GCP or AWS and infrastructure as code (Terraform, Pulumi, or CDK).
• Knowledge of REST API, GraphQL, and Microservices architectures.
• Experience with clinical or health data and understanding of privacy and compliance requirements.
• Knowledge of OLAP architectures (MOLAP, ROLAP).
• Experience enabling Data Science / ML work: training datasets, reusable features, and predictions served to the product.
• Familiarity with a growing startup context: high ambiguity, low bureaucracy, and shifting priorities.
• Access to tools and resources for your professional growth, including courses, workshops, books, and more.
• Unlimited private medical assistance via video call (general practitioner, nutritionist, and psychologist) for you and 3 family members.
• Access to tools for your physical well-being (TotalPass).
