This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Mexico.
• Oversee and direct multidisciplinary design evaluations encompassing architecture, civil, structural, MEP, systems, and specialty areas.
• Develop a design review strategy, workflows, and quality benchmarks that align with program objectives.
• Ensure that design packages comply with regulatory, code, client, FAA, airport authority, and local jurisdiction standards.
• Coordinate with design consultants, engineering teams, and subject matter experts to address comments, conflicts, and technical challenges.
• Facilitate workshops for design reviews, technical coordination meetings, and sessions focused on issue resolution.
• Align design intent with operational needs and construction viability.
• Conduct constructability reviews and ensure that design packages facilitate efficient, safe, and cost-effective construction practices.
• Collaborate with construction managers, schedulers, and cost teams regarding sequencing, phasing, and budget constraints.
• Identify design risks, gaps, and opportunities for optimization.
• Manage schedules for design reviews, deliverables, and crucial milestones.
• Monitor progress, assess consultant performance, and escalate any risks that could impact design delivery.
• Ensure the timely completion of design packages, preparing them for procurement and construction.
• Oversee QA/QC processes related to design submissions and maintain comprehensive documentation, comment logs, and audit trails.
• Act as the principal contact for design review communications with clients, consultants, and internal teams.
• Prepare reports, dashboards, and executive summaries related to design reviews.
• Assist governance boards and leadership with updates on design status, risks, and recommendations.
• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Capable of securing and maintaining a U.S. Public Trust security clearance.
• Successful completion of the Public Trust investigation.
• 10+ years of experience in design management, project management, or engineering in major capital programs.
• Strong background in aviation, transportation, or large-scale infrastructure projects.
• Proven track record in leading multidisciplinary design reviews.
• Comprehensive understanding of design standards, codes, and regulatory requirements.
• Ability to manage complex stakeholder groups and resolve technical issues effectively.
• Excellent skills in communication, coordination, and leadership.
• Experience with airport authorities, FAA programs, or federal infrastructure is preferred.
• Background in design-build, CMAR, or progressive design-build environments is preferred.
• Familiarity with digital design review platforms such as Bluebeam, Kahua, BIM 360, or similar is preferred.
• Professional licensure (PE, RA) or certifications (PMP, CCM) are preferred.
