Senior Construction Manager – Power Generation

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Carolina.

📋 Description

• Deliver desktop and onsite construction oversight during the execution of projects.

• Engage in monthly project update meetings and perform regular site inspections.

• Supervise permitting, engineering, procurement, construction, interconnection, commissioning, and testing activities to ensure adherence to established timelines and milestones.

• Assess contractor work plans, construction timelines, resource allocation, quality-control practices, and field documentation.

• Oversee construction quality and ensure compliance with contractual, technical, financial, and regulatory standards.

• Provide oversight and technical guidance for projects involving coal-to-gas plant conversions.

• Examine commissioning and start-up strategies and assess project readiness for commercial operations.

• Review operations and maintenance staffing plans and program development initiatives.

• Track project expenses, budgets, forecasts, and discrepancies.

• Assess and review change orders while verifying construction progress against set milestones.

• Compile Independent Engineer progress reports and certifications for clients.

• Evaluate performance test protocols and observe testing processes.

• Validate testing data, data-collection methods, calculations, and reporting techniques.

• Confirm contractual performance guarantees and relevant industry standards prior to commercial operation.

• Identify risks related to construction, scheduling, costs, quality, regulatory compliance, and commissioning, and communicate findings to clients and project team members.

⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Engineering.

• Over 15 years of pertinent experience.

• Background in thermal power generation, utility, construction, engineering, or large-scale industrial projects.

• Experience with conversions of coal-to-gas plants.

• Previous consulting experience is preferred.

• A valid driver's license is required.

• CMP certification is preferred.

• Willingness to travel to project sites in and around South Carolina.
