Senior Construction Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +7 more states.

📋 Description

• Lead intricate or high-stakes capital projects, which include significant renovations, expansions, ground-up design-build, and build-to-suit construction.

• Supervise multiple simultaneous projects.

• Provide strategic insights on project planning and execution.

• Engage with senior leadership and key stakeholders as necessary.

• Act as the primary liaison and deliver regular project updates to stakeholders.

• Define project scopes and convert requirements into detailed estimates to set project budget parameters.

• Identify potential risks and opportunities for value engineering.

• Develop, maintain, and update project schedules while proactively addressing potential delays.

• Manage complex project delivery methods.

• Create comprehensive bid packages.

• Prepare bid analyses and cost comparisons, recommending contractors to senior leadership.

• Oversee project budgets and monitor financial performance.

• Lead contract negotiations and risk management activities.

• Manage the project closeout process.

• Coordinate and lead architects, engineers, consultants, contractors, and vendors.

• Mentor junior team members.

• Foster collaboration among internal and external project stakeholders.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).

• 10-15 years of relevant experience in commercial construction, specifically managing projects.

• Advanced knowledge of building systems and construction processes and procedures.

• Proven experience in managing and leading complex projects, including ground-up build-to-suit and design-build construction.

• Strong capabilities in team leadership.

• Experience with large-scale or multi-site projects, with a track record of successfully delivering ground-up build-to-suit and design-build construction projects.

• Background in complex delivery methods.

• Subject matter expertise in construction due diligence, regulatory compliance, permitting strategy, and code interpretation.

• Advanced understanding of building codes, zoning regulations, stormwater regulations, fire and life safety requirements, accessibility standards, environmental regulations, and Certificate of Occupancy requirements across various jurisdictions.

• Proficient in construction project management software; experience with Procore or similar platforms is preferred.

• Relevant industry certifications.

• 60-70% travel required across regions, including overnight stays.

• Extended hours expected during critical project phases.

• Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is mandatory.
