This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Act as the primary compensation advisor for Technology leaders in Engineering, Infrastructure, ML/AI, and Data Science.
• Manage contested offers, retention strategies, annual equity distributions, and leveling exceptions.
• Provide counsel to Talent Directors and their teams; deliver recommendations to senior leadership and executives in Talent, Finance, and Legal.
• Oversee market positioning and benchmarking frameworks for technical talent.
• Assess roles based on AI expertise, research contributions, and essential skills.
• Design and implement intricate global compensation programs, ensuring accountability for costs, budgets, and ROI.
• Influence pay equity, job architecture and leveling, pay transparency, and workforce planning initiatives.
• Develop financial models for long-term compensation strategies and executive-level planning.
• Collaborate with regional Total Rewards Partners across EMEA, APAC, and India.
• Direct the Technology compensation cycle strategy from budget modeling to manager support and executive summaries.
• Build and maintain external networks with survey providers, consultancies, and peer companies.
• Create compensation models, tools, frameworks, AI-driven benchmarking, offer generation, and workflow automation.
• Collaborate on dashboards that provide market insights and offer guidance for recruiters, hiring managers, and Talent Directors.
• Mentor compensation partners and analysts while developing enablement resources.
• Over 12 years of experience in compensation or analytics.
• Preferably experience in supporting the technical domain of a rapidly growing technology firm in a fast-paced, global setting.
• Knowledge of the AI/ML talent market.
• Demonstrated experience as the primary compensation advisor to executive or C-level technical leaders.
• Proven track record of managing high-stakes compensation decisions.
• Capability to advise Talent Directors, recruiters, and senior business leaders.
• Experience in designing and strategizing complex global compensation programs.
• Financial responsibility for program costs and budgets.
• Experience in leading cross-functional initiatives in dynamic and uncertain environments.
• Broad expertise in base pay structure design, equity and incentive design, job architecture and leveling, and pay equity.
• In-depth knowledge of third-party survey methodologies, including Radford, Mercer, and WTW.
• Ability to define benchmarking methodologies and create and validate pay structures across various regions and functions.
• Advanced skills in Excel/Google Sheets.
• Proficient in SQL, Python, or R.
• Experience with Workday Advanced Compensation, Tableau, or similar BI and compensation platforms.
• Active engagement with AI tools and technologies.
• Strong skills in communication, influencing, negotiation, and presentation.
• Bachelor's or advanced degree in a quantitative discipline such as Engineering, Economics, Statistics, or Data Science, or equivalent experience.
• Must reside in San Francisco, California.
