This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +1 more state.
• Analyze, create, and implement written and visual communication content focused on suicide prevention, intervention, and postvention.
• Develop innovative messaging products, resources, and campaigns.
• Advocate for suicide prevention initiatives and enhance audience/user engagement with tools and resources.
• Formulate solutions for problems of moderate scope and complexity.
• Operate independently with minimal guidance.
• Craft and execute strategic communication plans to boost visibility, audience relevance, and engagement.
• Generate communication materials such as fact sheets, one-pagers, and PowerPoint presentations.
• Lead strategic communications initiatives and offer fresh perspectives for stakeholder communication.
• Facilitate communications for military, federal, and public-sector audiences.
• Master’s degree in Communications, Marketing, or a related technical discipline.
• Over 7 years of directly relevant experience.
• A total of more than 10 years of work experience.
• At least 7 years of experience in strategic communications, public affairs, or marketing.
• Proven experience in designing and developing content for creative media campaigns and storytelling products.
• Expertise in producing communication materials such as fact sheets, one-pagers, and PowerPoint presentations.
• Background in leading strategic communications plans with a strategic perspective.
• Proficient in graphic design, particularly with Microsoft PowerPoint.
• Capability to develop and implement strategic communication plans.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for internal and external stakeholders, in line with DoW style expectations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Must be able to obtain a security clearance.
• U.S. citizenship is required.
• Preferred experience in a military environment or with military personnel.
• Preferred experience in a DoW or government public affairs environment creating communication materials for military audiences.
• Familiarity with messaging regarding organizational transformation, workforce development/training, or public health/science communication is preferred.
• Experience in tracking, measuring, and analyzing communication effectiveness is preferred.
• Ability to convey messages accurately in a fast-paced setting is preferred.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills and meticulous attention to detail are preferred.
• Preferred experience in social media planning, event coordination, and stakeholder outreach communications.
• Experience in website redesign is preferred.
• Proficiency in Adobe InDesign or Illustrator is preferred.
