This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee essential editorial and mission-focused projects within the communications team to enhance Attendance Works’ outreach.

• Direct the creation of tools, resources, reports, handouts, toolkits, and various other materials.

• Establish production workflows, timelines, quality benchmarks, and ensure brand consistency.

• Manage relationships and workflows with external vendors, including project scoping, budgeting, and quality assessment.

• Maintain systems for tracking production and processes for communication support requests.

• Design and execute strategies to boost engagement across social media platforms.

• Set social media objectives and evaluate the effectiveness of initiatives through analytics.

• Increase traffic to the Attendance Works website, tools, webinars, and resources.

• Develop promotional campaigns for social media and email aimed at products and technical assistance offerings.

• Maintain a content calendar and modify organizational content for social media and email channels.

• Lead the production of materials for the Attendance Awareness Campaign and support the campaign microsite.

• Recruit new campaign partners and enhance engagement with existing partners.

• Provide writing, design production, and promotional support for the campaign and webinar series.

• Manage relationships with campaign sponsors and ensure delivery of sponsor benefits.

• Assist in writing and editing blog posts, promotional materials, stories, press releases, op-eds, magazine articles, toolkit content, annual reports, and fundraising documents.

• Define project specifications for communications and design contractors and oversee contract budgets.

• Facilitate meetings with designers and staff requesting design and production services.

• Monitor and report on the performance of the Attendance Awareness Campaign and social media initiatives.

• Translate analytics into actionable recommendations.

• Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.


⛳️ Requirements

• Over ten years of professional experience in print and digital production and project management.

• Exceptional and engaging writing, editing, and communication abilities.

• Strong project management skills and the ability to collaborate across teams.

• Capability to simplify complex educational and policy content for general audiences.

• Proficient content creation skills, including writing for social media, email campaigns, and concise promotional content.

• Knowledge of fostering engagement and following on platforms like LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, X/Twitter, and Bluesky.

• Proven track record of achieving positive response rates in communications outreach.

• Familiarity with social media management and analytics tools such as Hootsuite.

• Experience with email platforms like Constant Contact and the integration of email/social campaigns.

• Proficiency in Google Suite, Word, Excel, and Adobe Suite.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality control.

• Experience in managing intricate production workflows and handling competing priorities.

• Data-driven approach to strategy, including setting performance metrics and analyzing outcomes.

• Passion for issues impacting underserved, diverse children and youth from preschool to grade 12.

• Ability to communicate in Spanish is a plus.

• Ten years of progressively responsible experience in Communications, Publishing, Journalism, or related fields.

• A B.A. or M.A. in English, Journalism, Publishing, Communications, or a related field is preferred.

• Experience in the nonprofit sector is preferred.

• Experience leading multi-channel campaign communications.

• Demonstrated success in overseeing the design and production of reports, handouts, tools, and resources for diverse educational audiences.

• Experience in building strong social media platforms and managing social media campaigns.

• Proven ability to manage multiple projects, timelines, authors, and team members across various departments.

• Demonstrated experience in strategizing to achieve measurable objectives.

• Preferred experience in partnering with national nonprofit organizations and promoting educational initiatives at state and district levels.
