Senior Commercial Strategy Manager

📋 Description

• Recognize, prioritize, and spearhead initiatives that support major strategic bets and high-impact opportunities.

• Innovate, test, and nurture new concepts, products, and business ventures.

• Manage ad hoc analyses and project tasks, including board preparation, strategic planning, goal setting, competitive assessments, and financial evaluations.

• Coordinate with stakeholders across various teams and functions, align objectives, and facilitate progress.

• Anticipate potential obstacles and proactively offer solutions with minimal oversight.

• Champion projects both internally and externally while effectively influencing others without direct authority.

• Act as a trusted advisor to the Senior Director of Commercial Strategy, the VP of Business Development, and the Chief Commercial Officer.

• Spot growth opportunities and formulate go-to-market strategies for Thumbtack’s Partnerships division.

• Initiate programs that broaden the marketplace’s reach via partnerships and help shape organizational strategy.

⛳️ Requirements

• 5-7+ years of experience in management consulting, investment banking, private equity, business operations, or strategic roles.

• Comfortable navigating ambiguity and constructing frameworks/plans to establish necessary structure.

• Proficient in developing analytical models and translating findings into insights suitable for executive-level discussions.

• Proven ability to foster strong cross-functional relationships and influence leaders across all levels.

• Possess an ownership mentality and a proactive approach to “Getting Stuff Done.”

• Skilled at influencing without authority and collaborating with internal/external partners from diverse backgrounds.

• Embrace a growth mindset; prioritize impact and consistently go the extra mile.
