This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +16 more states.
• Accurately apply ICD-10 diagnosis codes and CPT-4 codes across relevant locations of service, specialties, testing, procedures, and significant surgeries.
• Conduct evaluation and management (E/M) coding in alignment with established coding guidelines and regulatory standards.
• Execute precise outpatient procedural, multi-specialty, and surgical/invasive coding.
• Assess documentation to determine suitable coding and ensure adherence to state and federal regulatory guidelines.
• Act as a subject matter expert and resource for coding-related inquiries and complex coding situations.
• Offer coding expertise pertaining to new procedures, techniques, and specialty-specific coding requirements.
• Keep up-to-date with coding guidelines, regulations, and industry standards to facilitate accurate and compliant physician billing.
• A minimum of 5 years of physician coding experience, including proficiency in CPT, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS.
• 3–5 years of experience in Evaluation and Management (E/M) coding.
• 3–5 years of outpatient procedural coding experience.
• 1–2 years of experience in multi-specialty coding.
• 1–2 years of surgical/invasive coding experience.
• High School Diploma.
• Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or an equivalent certification is required.
• Specialty-specific coding certification is preferred.
• Bachelor of Arts/Science (BA/BS) is preferred.
• CCS-P or an equivalent designation is preferred, as applicable.
• Must reside in one of the approved remote states: AL, FL, GA, ID, IN, KY, LA, MS, NC, OH, OK, OR, SC, SD, TN, TX, VA, WV, WY.
