This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +15 more states.
• Manage the daily electronic billing file and submit insurance claims promptly in accordance with payer guidelines.
• Work collaboratively with the team and external departments to address and rectify claim errors.
• Develop and uphold a general understanding of regulations that impact billing practices.
• Report any suspected compliance issues immediately.
• Perform tasks in a professional and timely manner.
• Execute all other responsibilities assigned by departmental leaders.
• Ensure accurate billing of claims.
• Adhere to timely filing deadlines for various payers.
• Bill claims in compliance with payer guidelines and regulations.
• Collaborate with revenue cycle departments and the organization to guarantee precise and timely billing.
• Keep updated on compliance and payer policies and disseminate relevant information to other team members.
• High School Diploma - Required.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft applications is required.
• Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational and time management abilities, with the capacity to prioritize effectively.
• Reliable in both productivity and attendance.
• Professional proficiency in using electronic fax, computer, email, Zoom, and telephone.
• Capability to research and analyze payer policies, guidelines, and compliance standards.
• Creative problem-solving abilities.
• Knowledge of Medical Terminology.
• Ability to appropriately escalate issues to leadership.
• Capacity to work independently and manage multiple tasks as necessary.
• Skill in analyzing and interpreting data, with the ability to explain issues thoroughly.
• Ability to understand and retain written and spoken instructions.
• Competence in organizing data and managing time effectively.
• Ability to collaborate to resolve billing issues.
• Proficient in operating computer, telephone, and fax equipment consistently.
• Ability to sit for extended periods, with occasional walking and standing.
• Adequate hearing, speaking, and visual skills.
• Limited exposure to hazards.
• Ability to work remotely from one of the approved states: Alabama, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Minnesota, Missouri, Mississippi, Nebraska, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Texas, Utah, or Virginia.
• Associate's Degree - Preferred.
• One year of non-clinical healthcare experience, preferably in revenue cycle - Preferred.
