Senior Cloud Security Engineer – InfoSec

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +4 more locations.

📋 Description

• Assist in establishing and defining the cloud security posture, fostering cyber resilience, and supporting zero trust initiatives.

• Implement Governance, Risk, and Compliance principles within cloud engineering practices.

• Collaborate with infrastructure and engineering teams to enhance the reliability and security of cloud infrastructure.

• Automate cloud security measures to reduce threats, vulnerabilities, and overall risk.

• Design Mercury's AWS cloud architecture with a focus on resilience, least privilege, and long-term maintainability.

• Tackle remote access challenges in Mercury's remote-first work environment.

• Partner with teams and stakeholders across Mercury to resolve cloud security issues.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of relevant experience in cloud security, networking, information security, or similar domains.

• A strong commitment to learning and development, demonstrated by a successful track record.

• Knowledge of security frameworks and privacy regulations, including NIST CSF, FFIEC, SOX, SOC2, GLBA, ISO27018, and PCI-DSS.

• Exceptional problem-solving and analytical capabilities.

• Ability to remain calm and effective in high-pressure and stressful situations.

• Basic understanding of accepted security practices, troubleshooting, attack vectors, and customer support.

• Experience with information as code (IaC) tools is preferred.

• AWS certifications are a plus.
