Senior Cloud Security Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Design, implement, and secure cloud solutions in Azure and AWS to ensure PQC readiness and enhance enterprise cybersecurity capabilities.

• Assist with PQC migration initiatives, lab provisioning, and cloud-hosted enterprise services.

• Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for AWS and Azure labs as well as the supporting cloud infrastructure.

• Troubleshoot testing tools within AWS- and Azure-hosted environments.

• Automate cloud deployments and security measures through Infrastructure as Code.

• Enforce and implement cryptographic standards and controls across various cloud environments.

• Configure, manage, and secure AWS Key Management Service (KMS) and Azure Key Vault.

• Scale cloud environments while supporting cryptographic agility.

• Oversee identity governance and access controls across multi-cloud environments.

• Conduct vulnerability management and continuous monitoring of Azure and AWS workloads.

• Configure and manage virtual networks, subnets, firewalls, routing, and DNS settings.

• Manage virtual machines, storage solutions, backup, disaster recovery, and hybrid-cloud integrations.

• Collaborate with Information System Officers (ISOs), Information System Security Officers (ISSOs), architects, and OCIO stakeholders to ensure secure and compliant deployments.

• Advocate for consistent engineering practices and standards throughout the enterprise.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a minimum of 4 additional years of experience in place of a degree.

• (ISC)2 Certified Information Security Professional (CISSP) or Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) certification.

• Current CISSP or CISM certification.

• Over 5 years of experience executing the aforementioned functions.

• Practical experience in securing workloads in both Azure and AWS environments.

• Direct experience with AWS KMS and Azure Key Vault.

• Adequate knowledge of AWS and Azure to troubleshoot third-party testing tools.

• Ability to work collaboratively with security, architecture, and executive stakeholders.

• Capability to analyze complex requirements and convert them into actionable tasks and processes.

• U.S. citizenship is mandatory for compliance with federal contracts.

• Azure Security Engineer or Azure Solutions Architect certification is advantageous.

• AWS Security Specialty or AWS Solutions Architect certification is advantageous.

• Familiarity with cryptographic agility practices within AWS and Azure is beneficial.

• Previous experience supporting an IT program for a federal civilian agency is beneficial.
