Senior Cloud & Platform Engineer – AWS, Kubernetes

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain.

📋 Description

• Design, manage, and continually enhance cloud infrastructure for production, primarily utilizing AWS.

• Evaluate current cloud environments, pinpoint architectural or operational deficiencies, and suggest practical enhancements.

• Engage extensively with Kubernetes in production settings, aiding in platform architecture, reliability, and scalability.

• Construct and uphold infrastructure through Terraform and other Infrastructure-as-Code methodologies.

• Develop and refine automation for infrastructure, including configuration management via tools like Ansible.

• Enhance platform reliability, resilience, observability, and security.

• Discover opportunities to minimize manual operational tasks through automation.

• Participate in cloud and Kubernetes architecture decisions, introducing relevant engineering best practices.

• Assist in troubleshooting, incident investigation, and root-cause analysis across production environments.

• Create scripts and internal automation using languages such as Python, Bash, Java, or similar where applicable.

• Engage in technical discussions with customers, translating requirements and infrastructure topics into clear technical solutions.

• Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure infrastructure and reliability factors are integrated throughout the development lifecycle.

• Share knowledge, constructively challenge existing methods, and help elevate engineering standards across the team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Senior-level experience in Cloud, Platform, DevOps, Infrastructure, or Site Reliability Engineering.

• Strong practical expertise with AWS, including a comprehensive understanding of AWS architecture and best practices.

• Capability to assess an existing AWS environment and independently recommend improvements in architecture, reliability, automation, or security.

• Advanced experience with Kubernetes in production is essential.

• Strong hands-on experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code.

• Familiarity with infrastructure and configuration automation; experience with Ansible is highly relevant.

• Strong understanding of principles related to production infrastructure, scalability, availability, and reliability.

• Experience with monitoring, observability, and troubleshooting in distributed production environments.

• Knowledge of cloud and infrastructure security best practices.

• Experience with CI/CD and modern cloud-native delivery methods.

• Scripting or programming skills for infrastructure automation; deep software engineering expertise is not mandatory.

• Experience in responding to production issues and conducting structured root-cause analysis.

• Ability to take ownership, identify weaknesses, and proactively implement improvements rather than merely maintaining existing systems.

• Strong communication skills and confidence in participating in customer-facing technical discussions.

• Professional working proficiency in English (C1+).
