Senior Cloud & Platform Engineer – AWS, Kubernetes

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Design, manage, and continually enhance production cloud infrastructure, primarily on AWS.

• Evaluate current cloud environments, pinpoint architectural or operational deficiencies, and suggest viable enhancements.

• Engage extensively with Kubernetes in production settings, contributing to platform architecture, reliability, and scalability.

• Construct and maintain infrastructure utilizing Terraform and other Infrastructure-as-Code methodologies.

• Develop and enhance infrastructure automation, including configuration management using tools like Ansible.

• Enhance platform reliability, resilience, observability, and security.

• Identify chances to minimize manual operational tasks through automation.

• Participate in cloud and Kubernetes architecture decisions and advocate for relevant engineering best practices.

• Assist in troubleshooting, incident investigations, and root-cause analysis across production environments.

• Create scripts and internal automation using languages such as Python, Bash, Java, or similar as needed.

• Engage in technical discussions with customers, translating requirements and infrastructure topics into clear technical solutions.

• Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure that infrastructure and reliability considerations are integrated throughout the development lifecycle.

• Share knowledge, constructively challenge existing methods, and help elevate engineering standards across the team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Senior-level experience in Cloud, Platform, DevOps, Infrastructure, or Site Reliability Engineering.

• Strong hands-on expertise with AWS, including a comprehensive understanding of AWS architecture and best practices.

• Ability to assess an existing AWS environment and independently recommend architectural, reliability, automation, or security enhancements.

• Advanced production Kubernetes experience is crucial.

• Significant hands-on experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code.

• Experience in infrastructure and configuration automation; Ansible is particularly relevant.

• Strong understanding of production infrastructure, scalability, availability, and reliability principles.

• Experience in monitoring, observability, and troubleshooting distributed production environments.

• Knowledge of cloud and infrastructure security best practices.

• Experience with CI/CD and modern cloud-native delivery methodologies.

• Scripting or programming capability for infrastructure automation; deep software engineering expertise is not a requirement.

• Experience handling production issues and conducting structured root-cause analyses.

• Ability to take ownership, recognize weaknesses, and proactively implement improvements instead of merely maintaining existing systems.

• Strong communication skills and confidence in participating in customer-facing technical discussions.

• Professional working proficiency in English (C1+).
