Senior Cloud & Platform Engineer – AWS, Kubernetes

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Greece.

📋 Description

• Design, manage, and enhance cloud production infrastructure, primarily utilizing AWS.

• Evaluate current cloud environments, identifying architectural or operational shortcomings, and suggest feasible enhancements.

• Work extensively with Kubernetes in production settings, contributing to platform architecture, reliability, and scalability.

• Construct and maintain infrastructure using Terraform and other Infrastructure-as-Code methodologies.

• Develop and refine infrastructure automation, including configuration management utilizing tools such as Ansible.

• Enhance platform reliability, resilience, observability, and security.

• Identify chances to minimize manual operational tasks through automation.

• Contribute to cloud and Kubernetes architectural decisions while promoting relevant engineering best practices.

• Assist with troubleshooting, incident investigations, and root-cause analyses across production environments.

• Create scripts and internal automation using programming languages like Python, Bash, Java, or similar as needed.

• Engage in technical discussions with clients, translating requirements and infrastructure matters into clear technical solutions.

• Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure that infrastructure and reliability considerations are integrated throughout the development lifecycle.

• Share knowledge, constructively challenge existing methodologies, and help elevate engineering standards across the team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Senior-level experience in Cloud, Platform, DevOps, Infrastructure, or Site Reliability Engineering.

• Strong hands-on expertise with AWS, including a comprehensive understanding of AWS architecture and best practices.

• Capability to assess an existing AWS environment and independently recommend architectural, reliability, automation, or security enhancements.

• Advanced experience with Kubernetes in production environments is essential.

• Strong hands-on experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code.

• Experience with infrastructure and configuration automation, with Ansible being particularly relevant.

• Solid understanding of production infrastructure, scalability, availability, and reliability principles.

• Experience with monitoring, observability, and troubleshooting of distributed production environments.

• Knowledge of cloud and infrastructure security best practices.

• Familiarity with CI/CD and modern cloud-native delivery methodologies.

• Scripting or programming skills for infrastructure automation; deep software engineering expertise is not mandatory.

• Experience in addressing production issues and conducting structured root-cause analyses.

• Ability to take ownership, identify weaknesses, and proactively implement improvements rather than merely maintaining existing systems.

• Excellent communication skills and confidence in participating in customer-facing technical discussions.

• Professional working proficiency in English (C1+).
