Senior Cloud Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee and support AWS cloud infrastructure and enterprise platforms that drive data ingestion, analytics, and applications for partners.

• Manage Windows Server, Active Directory, Amazon WorkSpaces, and secure file transfer services.

• Collaborate with teams in Data Analytics, Data Engineering, Security, and Web Development, as well as external healthcare partners.

• Deliver infrastructure solutions and ensure secure data exchange.

• Address vulnerabilities and maintain platform currency.

• Automate routine operational tasks using AI, serverless technology, infrastructure as code, and other innovative solutions.

• Manage and automate resilient, high-performance systems.

• Support the objectives of the Healthcare Fraud Prevention Partnership Trusted Third Party in combating fraud, waste, and abuse.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• More than 3 years of experience in cloud engineering.

• Practical experience in administering and supporting core AWS services in production, including EC2, ECS, S3, Route 53, VPC, IAM, Elastic Load Balancing, RDS, and CloudWatch.

• Basic networking knowledge, encompassing TCP/IP, DNS, TLS, SSH/SFTP, and firewall concepts.

• Hands-on experience with infrastructure as code utilizing AWS CloudFormation or similar automation tools.

• Experience in managing or supporting Linux and Windows operating systems within enterprise or production settings.

• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Bash, PowerShell, or others as applicable.

• Experience in managing enterprise applications hosted on cloud infrastructure, including upgrades, patching, troubleshooting, and availability management.

• Experience in administering or supporting Active Directory, including user and group management, group policies, and integration with applications and multi-factor authentication services.

• Familiarity with vulnerability and patch management processes.

• Experience working in a 24/7 production environment, including ticket-based operational support, incident response, root-cause analysis, and change management.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• AWS certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Associate), AWS Certified SysOps Administrator (Associate), or comparable cloud certifications.

• Experience in administering commercial off-the-shelf software.

• Experience managing Amazon WorkSpaces and endpoint protection tools.

• Familiarity with multi-account AWS environments, AWS Organizations, service control policies, and centralized governance structures.

• Knowledge of cloud security and compliance frameworks, including NIST, CIS benchmarks, FedRAMP, or FISMA.

• Experience in maintaining STIG-hardened machine images and automated image build pipelines.

• Familiarity with AWS Systems Manager, PDQ Deploy, or similar platforms.

• Knowledge of AI-assisted engineering tools such as Claude Code or Amazon Q Developer.

• US citizenship is not a requirement.
