Senior Cloud Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia.

📋 Description

• Contribute to the architectural design of cloud, data, and AI/ML systems by taking ownership of significant components.

• Develop and integrate cloud-native solutions, encompassing microservices, serverless architectures, and containerized workloads.

• Implement infrastructure as code along with CI/CD pipelines.

• Design and contribute to data architectures, including pipelines, data warehouses, and modeling techniques.

• Assist in the design of AI/ML systems, which includes model serving, MLOps pipelines, and the integration of LLM-based capabilities.

• Establish monitoring, logging, and observability across deployed systems.

• Utilize AI-enhanced tools such as Claude, Cursor, and other contemporary AI assistants to deliver high-quality results.

• Collaborate with engineering, data, AI, and product teams to transform requirements into technical solutions.

• Communicate technical trade-offs and design decisions across various functions.

• Maintain architectural documentation to ensure reproducibility, facilitate onboarding, and promote shared understanding.

• Engage in design reviews and provide constructive feedback.

• Assume end-to-end ownership of system components while increasing architectural responsibilities.

• Contribute to the establishment of architectural standards and best practices.

• Start mentoring junior engineers.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of professional software engineering experience, with direct involvement in architectural decision-making.

• A solid foundation in software engineering principles.

• Proficiency in Python and at least one additional language commonly used in modern technology stacks, such as Java, Scala, or TypeScript.

• Practical knowledge of cloud platforms and cloud-native architectures.

• Hands-on experience with microservices, serverless solutions, containerization, and event-driven systems.

• Experience with infrastructure as code and CI/CD pipeline implementations.

• Familiarity with both relational and NoSQL databases, along with data pipeline and ETL/ELT concepts.

• Understanding of AI/ML system design, including model deployment, MLOps, and LLM integration.

• Awareness of fundamental concepts in networking, security, identity, and access management within cloud environments.

• Knowledge of security, compliance, and observability principles, including GDPR, HIPAA, and SOC2.

• Proven daily use of AI-forward tools such as Claude and Cursor.

• Strong problem-solving abilities and capacity to tackle ambiguous technical challenges with sound judgment.
