Senior Clinical Specialist, Pain Interventions

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Tennessee.

📋 Description

• Act as a device specialist for Medtronic during surgical procedures.

• Ensure the availability of necessary equipment and products.

• Offer technical assistance, device selection, programming, and testing of device systems.

• Guide patients through all phases of the clinical process and provide education on Medtronic products.

• Deliver clinical support during surgeries, reprogramming, troubleshooting, and follow-ups in hospitals and clinics.

• Train and educate physicians, hospital staff, and office personnel on products and therapies.

• Organize one-on-one teaching sessions, in-services, education programs, seminars, and external symposia.

• Address device-related inquiries from customers and patients.

• Comply with company policies and complete event reporting and documentation using Medtronic technology tools.

• Oversee inventory for case coverage, including transactions, cycle counts, product retrievals, inventory turnover, and expiration/hold controls.

• Contribute to quarterly district, regional, and national initiatives.

• Stay informed about competitive products.

• Visit accounts to build and maintain relationships with office staff and healthcare providers.

• Place orders for pending purchase orders and product replacements.

• Collaborate with materials management to gather purchase orders for covered cases.

• Assist management and Sales Training with new employee education and training.

• Utilize Excel, mobile phones, iPads, laptops, and/or Samsung tablets.

• Manage business expenses and budgets within required timelines.

• Serve as a clinical leader with autonomy and expert clinical knowledge.

• Provide coverage and troubleshooting for complex cases.

• Engage in territory business planning that aligns with sales objectives.

• Act as a field trainer and mentor for Associate Clinical Specialists and Clinical Specialists.

• Complete training in therapy, medical education, and corporate compliance.

• Travel as necessary to cover district cases.


⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED with at least 8 years of clinical or medical sales experience; or Associate Degree with a minimum of 6 years of clinical or medical sales experience; or Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 4 years of clinical or medical sales experience.

• Must reside within the assigned territory and travel to multiple accounts across the region.

• Valid driver's license and active vehicle insurance policy required.

• Unrestricted U.S. work authorization at the time of hire and throughout employment.

• Ability to adhere to healthcare universal precautions to reduce exposure to infectious disease and radiation.

• Serve as the primary resource for scheduled and unscheduled clinical events, including periodic weekends, evenings, nights, and overnight travel.

• Work efficiently and independently with minimal direction outside of clinical events.

• Attend national meetings, district meetings, and additional training as required.

• Ability to wear a 7–9 lb protective lead apron for extended durations in the operating room.

• Capability to lift up to 40 lbs.

• Ability to sit, stand, and/or walk for 8+ hours daily.

• Ability to bend/stoop, squat, and balance frequently.

• Close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus are required.

• Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare-related field is preferred.

• Master’s degree is preferred.

• Registered nurse or healthcare professional with experience in a sterile environment is preferred.

• Clinical experience with implantable neurological products and patient care is preferred.

• Experience providing service to medical personnel regarding product use is preferred.

• Background in medical device or pharmaceutical companies, along with clinical experience in neurology, neurosurgery, orthopedics, operating room, pain management, or home health care, is preferred.

• Basic knowledge of reimbursement and the healthcare environment is preferred.

• For degrees obtained outside the United States, a degree satisfying 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.
