This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Classify, code, summarize, interpret, and compute registry/case data from intricate patient medical records.
• Ensure the precise submission of data to designated registries or data repositories.
• Organize and prioritize multiple simultaneous tasks and team requests.
• Manage expectations, identify challenges, and propose timely solutions.
• Navigate through electronic medical records and registry/case entry tools.
• Resolve technical issues related to systems and applications.
• Contribute to the development of team best practices, data dictionaries, abstraction guidelines, and business rule documents.
• Recognize opportunities for process improvements to enhance task efficiency.
• Stay updated with required regulatory and publicly reported data mandates.
• Undertake additional assigned duties.
• A minimum of 1 year of direct clinical surveillance experience in abstracting hospital-acquired infections within the past year.
• Familiarity with various patient medical record systems (EMRs) and clinical databases.
• Intermediate skills in MS Office, particularly Microsoft Excel.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities.
• High standards for accuracy and meticulous attention to detail.
• Technologically proficient with a readiness to learn new systems and technologies.
• Capability to work independently and take responsibility for projects and patient records.
• Clear communication skills with the ability to adapt style and tone for effective collaboration.
• Strong self-organization and time management capabilities.
• Proficiency in managing multiple accounts with shifting timelines and priorities.
• Adaptability to changing timelines, requirements, and project assignments.
• Ability to maintain the security and confidentiality of PHI.
• At least 1 year of direct clinical surveillance experience with CIC within the last calendar year.
• Active CIC certification is preferred.
• Direct clinical experience as an Infection Preventionist.
• Credentials such as RN, LPN, RT, RVT, or RCIS.
