Senior Clinical Data Abstractor – Part Time

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Utilize specialized clinical expertise to classify, code, summarize, interpret, and compute registry/case information from detailed patient medical records.

• Guarantee precise submission of data to designated registries or measure data repositories.

• Prioritize, organize, and adhere to tight deadlines across various simultaneous tasks and team requests.

• Manage expectations, identify obstacles, and suggest timely resolutions.

• Navigate electronic medical records and registry/case entry tools efficiently.

• Resolve technical issues with systems and applications by leveraging team resources.

• Contribute to team best practices, data dictionaries, abstraction guidelines, and business rule documentation.

• Identify opportunities for process enhancements to optimize tasks and workflows.

• Stay updated on mandated regulatory and publicly reported data requirements.

• Execute other assigned responsibilities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must possess direct clinical data abstraction experience within the NSQIP registry in the past year.

• Active SCR certification is required.

• Familiarity with various patient medical record systems (EMRs) and clinical databases is essential.

• Intermediate skill level in MS Office, particularly Microsoft Excel.

• Strong analytical and critical thinking capabilities.

• High standards for precision and attention to detail.

• Technologically adept and eager to learn new systems and technologies.

• Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects/patient records.

• Effective communication skills with the ability to adjust style and tone when collaborating with hospital partners, peers, team leads, and others.

• Strong self-organization and time management abilities.

• Capability to manage multiple accounts and navigate shifting timelines and priorities.

• Ability to adapt to changes in hospital partner timelines, requirements, and project assignments.

• Competence in maintaining PHI securely and confidentially.

• Legal authorization to work in the United States now or in the future without sponsorship.

• Direct clinical experience is preferred.

• RN, LPN, RT, or RCIS credentials are preferred.
