Senior Clinical Data Abstractor – NSQIP

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Categorize, code, summarize, interpret, and compute registry/case information from detailed patient medical records.

• Ensure the accurate submission of data to designated registries or data repositories.

• Maintain a high standard of accuracy.

• Prioritize and organize various concurrent tasks and team requests effectively.

• Manage expectations, identify obstacles, and propose timely solutions.

• Navigate electronic medical records and registry/case entry tools proficiently.

• Troubleshoot technical challenges with systems and applications.

• Contribute to the development of team best practices, data dictionaries, abstraction guidelines, and business rule documents.

• Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance task efficiency.

• Stay updated on mandated regulatory requirements and publicly reported data standards.

• Execute additional responsibilities as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must possess direct clinical data abstraction experience with the NSQIP registry within the last year.

• An active SCR certification is mandatory.

• Familiarity with various patient medical record systems (EMRs) and clinical databases.

• Intermediate proficiency in MS Office, particularly Microsoft Excel.

• Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities.

• High standards for accuracy and meticulous attention to detail.

• Technical aptitude and eagerness to learn new systems and technologies.

• Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects and patient records.

• Clear communication skills with the ability to adjust style and tone when working with hospital partners, peers, team leaders, and others.

• Excellent self-organization and time management abilities.

• Capacity to adapt to shifting timelines, requirements, and project assignments from hospital partners.

• Ability to maintain the security and confidentiality of PHI.

• Legal authorization to work in the United States now or in the future without sponsorship.

• Direct clinical experience is preferred.

• RN, LPN, RT, or RCIS credentials are preferred.
