This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Classify, code, summarize, interpret, and calculate registry or case information from detailed patient medical records.
• Ensure the accurate submission of data to designated registries or measurement data repositories.
• Prioritize, organize, and meet stringent deadlines for multiple simultaneous tasks and team requests.
• Manage expectations, highlight obstacles, and propose timely solutions.
• Navigate through electronic medical records and registry/case entry tools.
• Troubleshoot any technical issues related to systems and applications.
• Contribute to the development of team best practices, data dictionaries, abstraction guidelines, and business rule documents.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance task efficiency and workflow.
• Remain updated on mandated regulatory and publicly reported data requirements.
• Undertake additional assigned responsibilities as needed.
• A minimum of one year of direct abstraction experience in the Get With the Guidelines Stroke registry.
• Familiarity with various patient medical record systems (EMRs) and clinical databases.
• Intermediate skills in MS Office (Excel, Word, Teams, OneNote, and SharePoint).
• Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities.
• High standards of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Technical proficiency and a strong desire to learn new systems and technologies.
• Capability to work independently and take ownership of projects and patient records.
• Clear and consistent communication with hospital partners, colleagues, team leaders, and others.
• Exceptional self-organization and time management skills to manage multiple accounts simultaneously.
• Adaptability to changes in hospital partner timelines, requirements, and project assignments.
• Ability to maintain the security and confidentiality of PHI.
• Direct clinical experience is preferred.
• RN or LPN credentials are preferred.
