Senior Clinical Data Abstractor – GWTG Stroke

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Utilize specialized clinical expertise to assist hospital partners.

• Classify, code, summarize, interpret, and compute registry or case information from detailed patient medical records.

• Guarantee accurate submission of data to designated registries or measure data repositories.

• Uphold a high standard of accuracy.

• Organize, prioritize, and adhere to tight deadlines while managing multiple concurrent tasks and team requests.

• Manage expectations, identify obstacles, and suggest timely solutions.

• Navigate electronic medical records (EMRs), registry tools, and case-entry systems effectively.

• Resolve technical issues with systems and applications utilizing team resources.

• Contribute to team best practices, data dictionaries, abstraction guidelines, and business rule documentation.

• Recognize opportunities for process improvements to enhance task and process efficiency.

• Stay informed about mandated regulatory and publicly reported data requirements from federal, state, payer, and other agencies.

• Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of one year of direct abstraction experience within the Get With the Guidelines Stroke registry.

• Familiarity with various patient medical record systems (EMRs) and clinical databases.

• Intermediate proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, Teams, One Note, and SharePoint).

• Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities.

• High standards for accuracy and meticulous attention to detail.

• Technical proficiency and a keen interest in learning new systems and technologies.

• Ability to work independently and take responsibility for projects and patient records.

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to adjust style and tone for effective collaboration.

• Strong self-organization and time management capabilities to handle multiple accounts simultaneously.

• Ability to adapt to evolving timelines, requirements, and project assignments from hospital partners.

• Capability to maintain the security and confidentiality of PHI.

• Direct clinical experience is preferred.

• RN or LPN credentials are preferred.
