Senior Clinical Data Abstractor – GWTG Stroke

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Utilize specialized clinical expertise to assist hospital partners.

• Classify, code, summarize, interpret, and compute registry/case data from complex patient medical records.

• Ensure the accurate submission of data in designated registries or measure data repositories.

• Maintain a high level of precision in all tasks.

• Prioritize, organize, and adhere to tight deadlines for multiple simultaneous tasks and team requests.

• Manage expectations, identify challenges, and suggest timely solutions.

• Navigate electronic medical records (EMRs), registries, and case-entry systems.

• Resolve technical issues with systems and applications using team resources.

• Contribute to the development of team best practices, data dictionaries, abstraction guidelines, and business rule documentation.

• Recognize opportunities for process improvements to enhance task efficiency.

• Stay updated on mandatory regulatory and publicly reported data requirements from federal, state, payers, and other agencies.

• Undertake additional responsibilities as required.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of one year of direct abstraction experience in the Get With the Guidelines Stroke registry.

• Familiarity with various patient medical record systems (EMRs) and clinical databases.

• Intermediate skills in MS Office (Excel, Word, Teams, OneNote, and SharePoint).

• Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities.

• High standards for accuracy and meticulous attention to detail.

• Technically proficient with a strong eagerness to learn new systems and technologies.

• Capability to work independently and take ownership of projects and patient records.

• Clear and consistent communication skills, adapting style and tone for effective collaboration.

• Strong self-organization and time management skills to handle multiple accounts simultaneously.

• Ability to adapt to changes in hospital partner timelines, requirements, and project assignments.

• Commitment to maintaining the security and confidentiality of PHI.

• Direct clinical experience (Preferred).

• RN or LPN credentials (Preferred).
