Senior Clinical Data Abstractor – Core Measures

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Classify, encode, summarize, interpret, and compute registry/case information from intricate patient medical records.

• Ensure the accurate submission of all data in designated registries or measure data repositories, maintaining a high level of precision.

• Prioritize, organize, and adhere to tight deadlines for multiple simultaneous tasks and team requests.

• Manage expectations, identify obstacles, and propose timely solutions.

• Navigate electronic medical records (EMR) and registry/case entry tools efficiently.

• Resolve technical issues with systems and applications utilizing team resources.

• Contribute to team best practices, data dictionaries, abstraction guidelines, and other business rule documents.

• Recognize opportunities for process improvements to enhance task efficiency.

• Remain informed about mandated regulatory and publicly reported data requirements from federal, state, payer, and other agencies.

• Take on additional responsibilities as assigned.

• Familiarity with various patient medical record systems (EMRs) and clinical databases.

• Intermediate proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Teams, One Note, and SharePoint).

• Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities to systematically approach problems.

• Exhibits high standards for accuracy and attention to detail.

• Demonstrates technical proficiency and a keen eagerness to learn new systems and technologies.

• Excels at working independently and taking ownership of projects/patient records.

• Consistently communicates clearly, adjusting style and tone as necessary to effectively collaborate with hospital partners, peers, team leads, and others.

• Exhibits strong self-organization and time management skills to manage multiple accounts concurrently, adapting as needed to shifting timelines and priorities.

• Capable of adapting to changes in timelines, requirements, and project assignments.

• Maintains a high level of responsibility in safeguarding PHI security and confidentiality.

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States now or in the future without sponsorship.

• A minimum of 1 year of direct Core Measures and Sepsis abstraction experience within the last calendar year — REQUIRED.

• Direct clinical care experience — preferred.

• RN or LPN Credential or substantial clinical experience — preferred.
