Senior Clinical Data Abstractor – Concurrent Stroke

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Classify, code, summarize, interpret, and compute registry/case information from detailed patient medical records.

• Ensure the accurate submission of data into designated registries or measure data repositories.

• Maintain a high level of accuracy.

• Prioritize, organize, and adhere to tight deadlines for various concurrent tasks and team requests.

• Manage expectations, identify obstacles, and propose timely solutions.

• Navigate electronic medical records and registry/case entry tools effectively.

• Resolve technical issues related to systems and applications.

• Contribute to team best practices, data dictionaries, abstraction guidelines, and business rule documentation.

• Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance task efficiency.

• Stay informed about regulatory and publicly reported data requirements from federal, state, payer, and other agencies.

• Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of one year of direct abstraction experience in the Get With the Guidelines Stroke registry.

• Familiarity with various patient medical record systems (EMRs) and clinical databases.

• Intermediate skills in MS Office (Excel, Word, Teams, OneNote, and SharePoint).

• Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities.

• High standards for accuracy and attention to detail.

• Technical proficiency and a keen interest in learning new systems and technologies.

• Capacity to work independently and take ownership of projects and patient records.

• Effective communication skills with the ability to adjust style and tone for collaborative efforts.

• Excellent self-organization and time management skills to handle multiple accounts simultaneously.

• Flexibility to adapt to changes in hospital partner timelines, requirements, and project assignments.

• High level of responsibility for maintaining the security and confidentiality of PHI.

• Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States now or in the future without sponsorship.

• Direct clinical experience is preferred.

• RN or LPN credentials are preferred.
