Senior Claims Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Deliver strategic leadership, operational oversight, and hands-on management for AMSURG’s extensive claims portfolio.

• Oversee the complete claims lifecycle within the Risk Management department.

• Assess and investigate reported incidents, allegations, and claims.

• Evaluate liability, determine compensability, confirm coverages, and manage notifications to carriers.

• Collaborate with external insurance adjusters and defense attorneys on defense strategies and claim resolutions.

• Execute releases or payments within the specified authority limits.

• Formulate the strategic vision for the claims function while promoting continuous improvement, operational excellence, high performance, and compliance.

• Provide guidance to Corporate and Center staff on claims-related matters.

• Enhance Return-to-Work programs and manage subpoenas and medical record requests.

• Analyze intricate claims data and third-party loss runs to identify risk patterns.

• Prepare strategic insights and ad-hoc reports for leadership.

• Work in conjunction with Finance, Legal, IT, Real Estate, and Operations to integrate risk management best practices.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.

• At least eight (8) years of experience as a claims handler.

• Basic understanding of claims processes for both litigated and non-litigated matters.

• Knowledge of reserve setting, claim financing, and loss run data analytics.

• Strong familiarity with state or federal regulations and/or statutes related to insured claims is preferred.

• Experience in Professional Liability, Workers Compensation, and Property is highly preferred.

• Capability to manage Workers’ Compensation, Property, General Liability, and Professional Liability claims portfolios.

• Expertise in claims evaluation, investigation, liability assessment, compensability, coverage verification, and carrier notifications.
