Senior Claims & Litigation Paralegal – Transportation

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee and assist with commercial-auto bodily injury, catastrophic-loss, property-damage, and transportation litigation/claims.

• Organize immediate evidence preservation after major accidents, including driver qualification/personnel records, ELD/HOS, telematics/GPS, ECM data, dashcam/video, maintenance/inspection records, dispatch communications, bills of lading, photographs, police reports, and witness information.

• Analyze accident reports, demand packages, medical records, and claim documentation while preparing litigation timelines.

• Under the guidance of an attorney, draft initial responses, affidavits/declarations, notices, motions, and various litigation documents.

• Assist with interrogatories, requests for production/admission, subpoenas, discovery, document collection, and legal holds.

• Create exhibits, document and medical summaries, deposition/mediation materials, and trial binders.

• Maintain comprehensive litigation files and calendars, and monitor pleading, discovery, deposition, mediation, motion, and trial deadlines.

• Keep concise case summaries that outline allegations, damages, exposure, defense strategy, deadlines, and next steps.

• Collaborate with outside counsel, oversee case strategy/budgets/deadlines, and aid in reviewing invoices and litigation expenses from outside counsel.

• Coordinate with Claims, Safety, Operations, Maintenance, Insurance/Risk Management, and other departments.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in litigation, claims, or as a senior paralegal.

• Strong preference for experience in trucking/transportation litigation, commercial-auto liability, catastrophic-loss, or insurance defense.

• Background with a motor carrier, insurer, TPA, self-insured transportation company, or transportation defense law firm is highly desirable.

• In-depth knowledge of U.S. litigation and discovery processes.

• Proficient in legal drafting.

• Strong docket/file management skills.

• Familiarity with trucking evidence and FMCSA-related documentation.
