Litigation Paralegal – Civil Litigation Defense

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Oversee designated civil litigation cases from initiation through stages such as discovery, depositions, hearings, and trial preparation.

• Keep precise and well-organized case files, client documentation, discovery materials, correspondence, and litigation records.

• Review, analyze, summarize, and arrange pleadings, discovery responses, medical records, and other documents related to the case.

• Assist attorneys with drafting complaints, interrogatories, requests for production, and various discovery-related materials.

• Collect, organize, and monitor medical records, non-party documents, and supporting evidence necessary for ongoing cases.

• Collaborate with witnesses, experts, clients, and other participants while ensuring effective and professional communication.

• Equip attorneys for client meetings, depositions, hearings, and trials by guaranteeing that relevant materials are complete and readily available.

• Aid in deposition preparation, including organizing documents, exhibits, records, and case summaries.

• Support federal court litigation matters while adhering to relevant filing, case management, and documentation protocols.

• Acquire knowledge and consistently implement the firm's client-specific documents, naming conventions, workflows, and document management practices.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Paralegal Studies or Legal Studies, or a recognized Paralegal Certificate.

• Minimum of 3 years of practical civil litigation paralegal experience, ideally within the preferred 3-5 year range.

• Significant experience in supporting U.S. litigation related to personal injury cases.

• Comprehensive understanding of the litigation lifecycle, including pleadings, interrogatories, discovery, depositions, hearings, and trial preparation.

• Experience handling medical records and non-party documents in litigation matters.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English with a strong attention to detail.

• Capability to manage deadlines, organize multiple active cases, and work independently post-training.

• Experience in personal injury defense or broader civil defense litigation.

• Familiarity with federal court litigation practices.

• Florida civil litigation experience is a plus.

• Previous experience supporting a U.S. law firm in a remote capacity.

• Proven ability to communicate with and coordinate activities of experts and witnesses.
