Senior Civil Litigation Attorney

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Oversee judicial processes (Special Civil Courts and Civil Courts) and administrative matters (Procon), managing cases from inception to resolution;

• Prepare all forms of legal documentation related to proceedings, including defense statements, appeals, motions, and responses to official correspondence;

• Engage in discussions on litigation strategies with clients and the legal team;

• Correspond with clients via email in English to ensure clarity on requests and information;

• Generate reports, perform database reviews, and update internal systems as well as case-management controls;

• Facilitate mediations with consumers when necessary;

• Handle a substantial caseload and daily demands while upholding technical quality and adhering to deadlines;

• Collaborate effectively with the team, showcasing organization, proactivity, and resilience.

⛳️ Requirements

• Juris Doctor degree and valid registration with the Brazilian Bar Association (OAB);

• Intermediate to advanced proficiency in English is required;

• Strong understanding of Civil Procedure and Law No. 9,099/95;

• Proven experience in drafting legal documents and managing a significant volume of cases;

• Familiarity with case-tracking software and legal systems;

• Preferred: additional qualifications in mediation, negotiation, or consumer law;

• Prior experience in high-volume civil litigation;

• Knowledge of consumer law, civil law, and civil procedure;

• Practical experience managing consumer-related issues before Special Civil Courts, Civil Courts, and Procon;

• Experience in mediating and negotiating with consumers;

• Professional English communication abilities, both written and oral.
